What is a fanlisting?
To quote
TheFanlistings.org, a fanlisting
is "a web clique that lists fans of a particular subject. Fans from around the world submit their
information to their approved fanlisting and they are then listed to show their love for the subject."
Basically, it's a listing of fans from all around the world.
What is Stargate Atlantis?
Stargate Atlantis is a science fiction television series created by MGM Studios that premiered
in June 2004 on the SciFi Channel. It is a spin-off series to the long-running
Stargate SG-1
TV series, which was based on the
Stargate movie.
Stargate Atlantis takes place in a
different galaxy with a whole new team of explorers and a new set of worlds, problems, cultures, and
enemies to encounter.
Why make a fansite and fanlisting for Stargate Atlantis?
We're very much obsessed with
Stargate Atlantis. Being major fans of
Stargate the movie
and
Stargate SG-1, when we heard about the spin-off series, we were excited. After seeing the
first episode, we both fell in love with the series and its characters. Although new,
Stargate
Atlantis deserves a large fanbase, and we're both obsessed enough to make a fansite for it.
Why call the site Atlantica?
It's the name that Lt. Ford suggests for the planet where Atlantis is based. It's cute, and it fits.
Sheppard may not like it, but we do. <3
